History of VisBlue

Our story started 11 years ago...

2014
VisBlue is founded by Adelio Mendes, Anders Bentien, Morten Madsen and Søren Bødker.

A four-leaf clover from two universities: VisBlue is an offshoot of a collaboration between Aarhus University and the University of Porto in Portugal. The basis is a patented invention done by Adelio Mendes (left) and Anders Bentien (top, middle). Morten Madsen (bottom) contributes his knowledge of power electronics, and Søren Bødker (right) has commercial responsibility for the company.
End 2014
Borean Innovation invests in VisBlue.

The investment ensured that VisBlue could develop the battery from being a laboratory product from the university to a commercial product that can be installed outside the home of the end user.

VisBlue has also been supported by the Danish Agency for Research and Innovation throughout the years.
2017
VisBlue qualifies for EU aid money
2018
The start of 2018 featured the first commercial sale to the island Livø.

In addition, we partnered with Contour Advanced Systems BV, which thus became one of our distributors, where our battery installations are implemented and installed in containers from Contour.

We also entered into a partnership with NRGI's Value Pool.
2019
We started the delivery of our first large-scale installation.

We also signed a collaboration with CIRKEL Energi.

The cooperation with CIRKEL Energi helps us tremendously to expand our business opportunities within the sustainable energy sector in Denmark and Germany.

March 2020
We started an exciting project (DanFlow) in collaboration with DTU Energy, Korea Institute of Science and Technology and Danish Power Systems. The project is supported by Innovation Fund Denmark and led by VisBlue's own Anders Bentien through Aarhus University.
mid 2020
Our batteries were approved by Dansk Energi, and are therefore now on the positive list for battery plants.

Borean Innovation was bought out. VisBlue is now owned by the three co-founders Morten Madsen, Anders Bentien and Søren Bødker as well as four private Business Angels Jesper Andersen, Kim G. Christensen, Ole Lysgård Madsen and Peter Aaby.
October 2020
VisBlue was co-founded by Vasco da Gama

VisBlue was co-founded by Vasco da Gama, a Portuguese consortium that intends to merge key Portuguese partners in the energy industry within the academic enterprise and startup sectors.

2021
The operation assurance app was developed and runs on a big screen in our office, where the operation of our installations is monitored so that we can monitor the functioning of our batteries in real time with customers.

We entered into a new supplier agreement with German Schmalz, who will supply our stacks to the Scandinavian market.

Today
Within a few years, VisBlue expects to be an international brand in the sustainable energy market. The aim is to be a natural part of any major home building where the energy bill includes solar panels.

Solar energy storage is a key measure in the calculations and can easily determine whether the investment in solar panels is worthwhile — and whether the expansion meets the energy requirements of the legislation.

Our technology produces new standards for green energy use, and evolution continues in pursuit of greater efficiency for less money.
