The challenge
Czech family business Stavitelstvo Vácha, which builds convenience stores for Lidl and Tesco among others, wanted to reduce its reliance on imported energy sources. The goal was clear: reduce the company's energy consumption and climate footprint — locally as well as globally.
The solution
Stavitelstvo Vacha therefore invested in a large photovoltaic system combined with a VisBlue redox flow battery. The solution enables the company to store and utilize solar energy optimally, significantly reducing the need for extrinsic sourced energy.
The result
By connecting the solar cells with the flow battery, Vácha reduces its annual energy consumption by 112,040 kWh, corresponding to a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 113 tons annually. Locally, it contributes positively to the health of both employees and the region's residents. Globally, Vácha serves as an inspiring example of how companies can take the lead and take responsibility in the green transition — demonstrating that industry has both the responsibility and the potential to drive significant climate change.
